The article observes the experience of France in the field of the migratory legal policy. Historical stages, conditions and preconditions of the formation of the French immigration legislation are considered. The author paid special attention to the French immigration policy of last decades, as the policy of meeting modern problems. The article has comparative legal character. The immigration legislation and the policy of France are compared with Russian ones. Common features of the French and Russian migratory situation are revealed. Some recommendations concerning the domestic migratory legislation taking into account the French experience are worked out.
